State of Missouri is Hiring a Maintenance Worker - 7020202 Near Trenton, MO

This position will be located at Crowder State Park, 76 NW Highway 128, Trenton, MO 64683. This position typically works Tuesday through Saturday, with a 30-minute lunch break. During the “On-Season” of April through October the shift is usually 1:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. During the “Off-Season” of November through March the shift is usually 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Shifts may vary occasionally with the time of year and to meet the needs of the facility.

  • Responsible for performing a variety of semi-skilled work in the alteration, maintenance, natural resource stewardship, and repair of state buildings and facilities.
  • Work in a variety of trade areas such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, concrete and masonry, painting, plastering, and mechanical repair in settings such as facilities and grounds.
  • Routine cleaning of park buildings, restrooms, campsites, and park grounds.
  • Utilize a computer-based system to assist with collection of camping fees and rental of shelters and watercraft.
  • Maintain a valid vehicle operator’s license to operate and maintain licensed vehicles, as well as tractors, mowers, skid steer, and other grounds related equipment.
  • Operate and maintain lawn mowers, tractors, skid loader, trucks, chainsaws, leaf blowers, and similar mechanical equipment.
  • Assist with prescribed burns, wildfire suppression, herbicide application, and other natural or cultural activities as directed with the completion of Level 1 Prescribed Fire training.
  • May also oversee a crew engaged in maintenance tasks.

This position may be required to obtain and maintain a Drinking Water Distribution certification and/or a Wastewater certification, and/or other required licenses/certification. If required, and if you do not currently possess these license/certifications, you will be given six months to obtain necessary license/certification.

Equivalent to those typically gained by:

  • 1-3 years of experience in any of the following trade areas: electrical, plumbing, concrete and masonry, carpentry, painting, plastering, and mechanical repair.
